In the spirit of “The Impact Equation,” I offer this review: Read it.
Of course, co-authors Chris Brogan and Julien Smith might prefer “Buy it.” And they didn’t send me a review copy just to add to my collection, so here are a few more thoughts.
This dynamic duo hope their new book will teach us how to stir others to action, whether it’s buy a product, contribute to a cause or simply share an idea. As they outline their simple formula – simple, not easy – they hit the mark time and time again.
“The Impact Equation” is full of analogies, stories and examples to help you fine tune your message so that it stands out, reaches the right audience and then generates an emotional response that spurs that audience to action.
On its surface, “The Impact Equation” is an easy-to-understand guide. When you’re done, you’ll feel like you’ve learned something and that you possess a reference worth consulting over and over again.
But there’s more. The book is a series of stories about successful businessmen, bloggers and river guides who illustrate the pieces of the equation. And without being autobiographical, this book also is the story of Chris’ and Julien’s careers. You’ll understand their mistakes, the lessons they’ve learned and how they’ve put those lessons to work.
By the time you’re finished, you’ll be inspired to get to work. And best of all, you’ll feel like you’ve spent a few hours with a couple of really cool people.
Disclosure: I’ve also posted this blog as a book review on Amazon.com. You can purchase the book here.
